One Day
One day we might not look behind
Won’t hope to see what we can’t find
We might forget they way things are
It’s hard to change a human heart
Perhaps one day we’ll all fall down
All of our bodies on the ground
And we’ll forget the things that were
Let past and present be a blur
Perhaps one day we will grow weak
Forget the goal we strain to seek
Lose the sight that stands so clear
Misplace the cries we often hear
Drop a dream of calm and peace
When the feuds look not to cease
End the hope we’ve had for ages
Because today we’ve no more pages
But we can make the things we need
With miracles we will concede
We’ll never fall, we’ll never break
Until we’ve shattered all the hate
We'll seek a day when we are free
We will not fear to cross the street
It's not a day in which we'd lose
Everything we've held on to
And such a day when dreams turn bland
Is not one we’ll see if hand in hand
True, it’s hard to change a heart
But we won’t know unless we start
