I never really got to say goodbye,
But now I feel that I must try.
Without a word you departed,
leaving me here,
Without a word I am left unguarded,
Alone, all alone in this world.
Together we were one,
Apart we are none.
You made me whole.

You made who I am.

Of you I was just so fond.
It’s amazing how one night can change a person’s life,
And it’s amazing how one can be left with so much strife.

Helping to be my guide.

Grandpa, it would be, “you are my bird”
It is with you that I soar, now and forever more.
