Hatikvah
The words are in Hebrew.
I'm the only one around here
Who can understand them.
I sing the song to my baby cousin at night
To help her sleep.
The words she can't understand
Will be hers someday.
I sing of freedom and hope
The gifts that will one day be hers.
The song comes to a close
And my baby cousin falls asleep.
And I ask myself
Will she one day embrace the hope?
