What I Want to Say to Malki

I look at your picture on the internet
and it's hard to believe that you were so young
when you went away.
Sometimes I feel happy when I see your picture,
sometimes sad or angry.
I ask myself sometimes "why did this happen to you?"
even though I never knew you, I ask every day.
you're my hero and I don't know you
any better than your murderers did.
I wish you were still here with us
because there's so much I want to say
if I could only meet you now.
but then I smile
because I know
that I will meet you
in heaven.
