Mom I'm Coming Home Soon
By Sipporah
"Mom I'm coming home soon,
I'm just waiting for the bus."
"Please hunny, let daddy pick you up."
"No mom, I don't want to make a fuss"
Daddy came to pick you up,
But arrived two minutes too late.
The bomb blew up and took away your soul
A murder of abominable hate.
"Mom I'm coming home soon"
I waited up all through the night.
I hoped to see you walking through the door,
Greeting me with your smile and shining light.
Why couldn't you just come home!
I would have kept you safe and sound
Why did they shed your innocent blood?
Questions, to which no answers can be found.
"Mom I'm coming home soon"
Your last words embedded in my heart.
I can't let you go Adva;
It's just too hard for me to part.
My Adva dear, you died too young.
I never got to say goodbye
You promised to come home soon,
'till then, I'm left on earth to cry.
* Adva Tzippora Fisher A"H, age 20, was killed by a suicide bomber, while waiting at a bus stop in Tel-Aviv. Her father had called her to say he was on his way to pick her up. She said she didn't want to bother him, but he insisted. He heard the blast in his car a block away. Adva was standing right next to the suicide bomber, and died immediately, without suffering.
