![]() ![]() THE TREE
Do you know the story of the tree?
Hearken--perhaps you shall know
Pause in contemplation
And listen as the tree tells so
The tree has seen much
Happy and times sad
Triumphant and times glad
Experiences of our people had
Green leaves brown and die
Fall in
silent tears
Recalling tragedies past
And leaves open and bloom
And branches spread out wide
As the tree remembers happiness--
Not so much, alas
The tree is one of many
Witness, life to bear
It has so much--too much--to tell
Hearken--
you
shall
hear.
