Memories of My Visit to the Holocaust Museum

I visited the Holocaust Museum while on a class trip. Visiting the website brought back the memories I hoped I would forget. As I was reading some of the articles I started to remember the smell of the shoes, the sounds of the people screaming on the videos that were shown, and the pictures of the people were so clear in my mind. I don't remember the quote that I saw there exactly but I remember exactly where it is. It is right across from the shoes. The quote means the world to me. I don't remember the exact thing but the last line was something like "And I did nothing till they came for me".

The whole quote makes you think. I will never forget the museum. I learned so much. I try not to take things for granted, seeing how they could be taken away from me any minute. The Teen-To-Teen website brought back memories from just this year but they were ones I tried to block out. I know now why I tried to block them. If I ever get scared, hungry, or feel alone..........I now know I am not. I will never feel the way these people had to. I will never know a loss that great. But I do know that... you should stop something wrong...before it gets to you...before it gets started. Then, you can look the whole world in the eye, knowing that the past is behind but you learned from it and won't let it repeat.
