I thought I saw the sun light beyond the ghetto wall,
but it was just a search light trying to make me fall.
I thought I heard some laughter behind my barrack door,
but it was just the murmurs of those who will stand tall.
I thought I heard the sirens of those who will set me free,
but it was just a nazi who wanted to kill me.
I thought I heard the thunder rumble in the sky,
but it was just a cattle car waiting fro me to die.
I know G-d has a theory, I know G-d has a way.
Everyday I sit and wait, will I tempt the hand of fate.
